Creative Work

A collection of my poetry and short stories crafted for both my own personal pleasures, but also for courses taken throughout my undergrad! Pieces created for course credits were done so with the purpose of expressing a message that I found would be best articulated in prose, rhyme, and metre, rather academic jargon. I hope these pieces are found to be just as enjoyable and thought provoking as an essay!

A short dystopian fiction about a girl with the ability to alter time, and her struggles on how to use them to solve the climate disaster.

A character study about a man who loves to paint choosing between the picket fence life he and his wife have always dreamed of, and his passion for art.

A short story about a young man who falls in love with death.

A poem about the experiences of growing up as racialized in Canada

A collection of poetry about learning to love while being young, black, and a girl.

A character poem in the perspective of William Shakespeare's Desdemona from Othello. This piece was inspired by Toni Morrison's play Desdemona

A character study on the "love at first sight" narrative in fiction writing.

A dialogue piece between two childhood friends talking about what is in store for their futures after high school [an assignment from a 3rd writing class - no narrative writing was allowed in the piece].
